castle sidewinder help!!!

Default castle sidewinder help!!!

i bought a castle sidewinder 5700kv sport and i got a 5000mah 2s lipo 25c. got it all put together and i did the quick set up which is just the full throttle makes noise then reverse then neutrel, it works fine up untill about 15 yeards away from me then it starts to cut in and out. please help ive only been in this hobby for 2 weeks. i tried calling castle creations but there out of the office till next monday due to easter

its most likely a receiver problem not the brushless system what setup are you running for electronics all together?

Default traxxas

the stock traxxas reciver. worked just fine with my xl5 the other day and i made sure everything was plugged in just fine. i chopped my antena housing, not my accual antenna so im going to see if thats why its cutting out but i dont see why it would work with my xl5 but not the castle

are you talking about the antenna tube you chopped? and if its an AM or FM radio you need the actual antenna wire to be as far up in the air as possible.

Default fixed it!

ok so i looked into it more and i guess my batteries were dieing in my reciver so i changed them and i also took 2 capri sun straws put the antenna thru it little electrical tape.(my hobby shop is closed so it will work till tomorow) and works just fine, i figure it goes atleast 70

wait your running a reciever pack in an electric this shouldnt be needed the esc will handle all that for you the esc should be in channel two with the darkest wire facing out away from the reciever

He prob meant his transmitter battery is dying not receiver.

yea sorry i ment transmitter and if i had my esc plugged in backwards would it still work?

it would work but it would make you go backwards when throttle is punched and when brake is hit it would go forward (im pretty sure thats what would happen or it just wont work at all as i havent put my plug in backwards for a long time)

If you mean the connection to the motor, then yes, it will work but go into the opposite direction. If you connect it reversed to the battery then it would most likely die.

i changed the batteries in my transmiter and put a new full legth antenna tube on and it works perfect now, same problem happend with my buddies car he got the same motor and he did the exact same thing and it works perfect now
