Guys Mark says it best when he calls local sponsorship target marketing. If you have a chassis sponsor, you run their cars and try to get others to run them too. Same with motors, esc's, batteries, etc. Part of the sponsored persons role is to promote that product. I have sponsors because I know how to market and can help get more product that I believe in out there. RCHR took on some Speedzone USA batteries after I talked to Mark for a while. Great batteries at an even better price allowing the shop to make some profit. That's the goal, get the name out there as much as possible. The shop sold through all but one battery, I did my job.

Yeah, but Protek is distributed solely by Amain, so I'm sure the shop is benefitting very little by selling those packs.

Isn't a sponsored driver supposed to make a certain amount of big events every contract period......as in, not just at one track?

My wife is sponsored by Stop & Stop, she gets discounts every time she shops and shows them her membership card. Stop and Shop doesn't care how well she cooks, or even if she cooks at all. (Golden Arrow)

Sponsored shoppers are only required to buy stuff.

Sponsored drivers are required to perform well at rc car racing.
