What ESCs would be best with these beasts?

Should work great with an RX8. The Hobbywing SCT Pro esc is another great choice. The Orion R8 should work great too, even though its an overpriced rebadged Hobbywing.

I was just @ the SC show down with the new 4800 revtech and Novak havoc pro with X drive I ran 12/40 on my scte. There was nothing wrong with motor and Novak as far as heat goes. Both ran fine..

Maybe new Tekin RSX will support it too...

Any sensored ESC that can handle the amp load will support these motors. I've only run across a small number of incompatable motor/esc combos. Tekin RS/Pro escs don't work well with Novak 17.5 or 13.5 motors if you're boosting them, and some Novak escs don't like non-Novak motors because of the missing temp sensor input to the esc. And Orion R10Pro escs don't work on 3S with 4 pole 540 motors, even though they are advertised as rated for 3S.

I guess I would expect a 4800Kv motor to be faster than a 4600Kv motor with the same gearing?

The motor does look good though. Curious to see where you would use the 7000Kv+ motor

We'll be using a Tresrey GT2.0 Pro, same as the Speed Passion. We've used that esc with 550's, Castle 3800's, and Tekin 4000 Pro 4's. Works great, no temp issues, and very smooth. Still gonna use the 4000 for indoor, but setting up another DESC410 with this 4800 for outdoor season.

I just want to know where you get spurs big enough, pinions small enough, and transmissions/drivetrains tough enough for these.

You don't. There's a reason no one else is making 4 pole 540 motors with kv's that high.

+1 Kind of a Head Scratcher, but hey, options are good for everyone. Maybe the 7000 would be good in a 1/8th scale conversion sct, with 2 2cells running Parallel, who knows, or a 3 cell

I can't wait to watch all the awesome "Someone hold my beer, watch this" videos that the 7000kv motor will be involved. That's the only reason for that motor to exist. Guarantee you a guy with a slash is reading this and ordering it in 3...2...1
