Has this happen to anyone else? I think im done with hobbyking basically because there is ZERO customer service. Ive tried to email support and no response. Has anyone received a replacement from hobbyking?

Somebody at the track suggested it could be a lose bullet, but i check all solder joints and they are solid. Plus this battery was the only one that melted down internally and it was not even warm. I guess you get what you pay for. The venom lipos come with lifetime replacement, I think im going that way on the next purchase.

It's a known issue with their bullet connectors. Get some ProTek solid 4mm bullets to plug into the battery and you should be fine. The problem (from what I was told) is their connector vibrates around and causes arcing inside...which melts things. I had this happen to one of my nano-tech 6000s as well. It melted the crap out of one of the terminals, lucky once I swapped to the 4mm solid connectors from ProTek....the problem went away (so far) and the battery is actually still useable.

They are on backorder, but they have a male/female set that is usually in stock. Other brands will probably work as well...just not the springy crap connectors that HobbyKing ships the batteries with...

Thanks.Those are the male bullets that im using. I have another nano tech with 10 charges and it works great. This one had 1 charge on it and this happened on the first run. Were you able to get a replacement for the one you had go bad.

you sure you hooked them up the right way round?

not sure what else could cause an issue like that...

I had the same thing happen with a venom pack and a CRC pack, motogod hit the nail on the head with the bullet connectors, I use the fantom racing ones myself, they are pricey but well worth the money. the crc folks sent me a new pack, then sent the old one back to me as the only thing that happened was the female part got hot and melted the side of the case as it was still connected to the battery itself, they just heated the plastic up and put the bullt back where it used to be, have not had another problem with that pack since I switched to a solid connector.
