Ok, so I'm sure I sound stupid saying this, but I'm gonna ask anyways

The other day I was looking through my new copy of R/C Action, and on the first page is a huge ad for the SC10 4x4 F.T. kit. And, I saw that it has 13mm big bore shocks on it. I was surprised, because I always thought it had similar size shock to the 2wd, but apparently not. So, my question is, why are alot of people (including myself) putting Losi brand shock spring on our trucks when you can buy actual AE 13mm big bore springs? http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...k-Spring-Kit-8

Like I said, I'm sure this a good reason for this, that's why I'm asking. Thanks

The bottom collars would probably fit, but not sure what top collars would work.

Without doing any research, I would say the reason is 12mm vs 13mm. You need to collar to fit and I'm guessing the 13mm spring doesn't sit well on the 12mm collar

Well, the upper and lower collars I have on my shocks (2wd F.T.) were custom machined out of aluminum by a guy on this forum. So, I would suppose if he could make them 12mm wide, he could make them 13mm wide. I just am surprised nobody has been using the 13mm AE springs. Just seems like it would make more sense to keep it AE and to have spring rates that more closely match the SC10's stock springs better.

On the 13mm diameter springs, the rear camber link might rub. That's all I can think of.

The SC10 4x4 13mm springs were made for just that. 4x4. the truck weighs more than the 2wd. The spring rate selection sucks compared to what we have now for the 2wd.
The shock is large and longer. I have installed one on my 2wd it hits everything around it.

Answer - the rates are wrong. Plus, they are insanely too long for anything other than the rear.

Yep, that all makes sense. Now that I look at my truck closely, I realize that the 13mm springs would definitely rub... b/c the 12mm Losi's are soooooo close to the camber link. Thanks for all of the input guys, I figured there would be reasons, or else everyone would probably be doing it

For those of you running Losi springs....what are you running front and rear? Are they from the 22t shock length?

Been trying to get an answer to that for weeks now...lol. I bought Losi yellow 22T rears and Kyosho yellow rears ( hard )...and for the front Losi 22T orange fronts and Kyosho yellow ( hard ) fronts as well. I've been asking if anybody else is running yellow Kyosho springs and have got no responses?

I have been making the rounds at SRS and people who are running Losi BB springs are using Losi 22T green front springs and Losi 22 grey rear springs. I cant get any 22T front springs before Cactus Classic begins qualifying so he said to use the AE gold springs up front.
