"Direct" wired batteries
#1
Hello,
I'm I the market for 2 4s lipos for my Losi 8ight E.
I have been looking at the gens ace 4s 5000mah 40c
"direct" battery as the regular is never instock. Is there an advantage or disadvantage to this ? What's the big deal if it's wired direct ?
Thanks

Direct wires just means the wires are already connected, but not where the wires are run from. My Nano Tech batteries have the wires coming out the side and because of this, one has to notch a Slash chassis. My Gens Ace have the wires out the top so not a problem.
Oh, hardcase typically come out the top while soft pack seem to come out the side in the corner.

I have 2 gens ace 2s 5000mah 40c lipos. The reason why they started to go to direct wire and why they are more popular is due to their design. They tend to desolder themselves around the bullet connector inside the case. I had to mod mine to a direct wire after having this problem several times. Not sure if its due to a banana plug issue or what, I tried several things but the connector always desoldered. After I hard wired it 3 months ago no problems.
Great Batteries otherwise.
