with the aluminum bellcranks, is this leading to any other breakage? i tried the strc one for my rb5 then began breaking servo horns by just tapping a tube. Im not wanting to go through that again but want to tighten up my steering on the sc10

I think I'll go the Shoo Goo route!

Thanks!

That's my thought too. I've not had a steering issue with this truck other than the slop caused by the collars on the steering bar.

Any time you start replacing plastic parts with aluminum, the forces that are exerted on your car are going to be transferred to a new location during an impact. When I replaced my plastic steering linkage with the STRC units, I also replaced the servo horn with an aluminum one. Where the stresses are relieved now is at the steering knuckle. To me, that's a bit easier to replace than the steering bellcranks or the even the servo horn. Getting at the horn can be troublesome.

No those are stock ft associated ones just anodized gold with simple green 7 9v negetive wire any kind in the simple green and positive wire wrapped 2 times around the turnbuckle 30-60sec depending on if the batteries are used or not and try not to put the positive wire fully in the simple green just put the turnbuckle in and hold the end plastic ball cup so u dont get shocked but if you just put the whole turnbuckle in with the positive wire it wont come out as good enjoy

I installed the STRC bellcrank on my SC10 about 2 months ago. However, nothing has broken as a result of it yet... but, I'm not fully convinced it made my steering much tighter though.

A lot of the slop in the steering comes from those stupid little sleeves that attach the Ackerman arm to the steering bellcranks. Unfortunately, they are there on all of the aftermarket steering setups.

Just make sure everything is nice and free of binding. Take your time with the build it pays off in the end. BTW I have an RPM front bumper and skid I only used for 1 race I will sell for $15 shipped.

Thinking about getting 1 when they get off back order.
I got one and I like it a lot. I got a strong savox Ti gear servo and it's survived plenty of hard hits. It does make the truck feel sharp and a little edgy which is what I like, but a lot of that could be my setup too.

Another guy at the track got one and he is better than me, and he hated it. So to each his own I guess.

I use the avid bellcranks on my sc10 and b 4.1 and have no complaints. I did mention that there was an increase in breakage of front end components, but I got chastised by someone who told me to learn how to drive.

I guess 25 years of racing rc cant help.

I'm about to go the Shoo Goop route until Avid gets these back in stock. I'll be going thru the same thing; learning to drive without hitting the pipes! On Avid's website, you can request an email and/or text msg when an item is back in stock.

Thanks for the info about Avid, everyone! When my SC10 does it's "lazy turn" thing, it can be really frustrating, either waiting for it to finally make the slow, wide turn or it turning so wide, it goes over the pipe. I lose a lot of time and the better drivers are able to just cut right inside me. They can punch it sooner too bc their SCT squares up more quickly when exiting turns.

I know it's the dang servo saver bc when I rebuild it with a new HD FT spring, it turns great. Then after a while, the nut comes loose or I wear the poor spring out from me driving into the pipes! I know! Slow wins the race and don't hit the pipes... or the walls... or other trucks!

I leave them on because the threads it covers are still gonna be blue but no one will realize because the ball up covers it and the shock mounts would have p be titanium if they are than yes it would work and they would look pretty cool

I popped a horn on my T4.1 at the last race. I guess it really depends on what you are okay with. at some point, something is going to give.
