Or maybe because it's 1/3 the cost of the Savox that I have been running, you need to use the 1/3 as a modifier for the specs....

Let me know on this. Either way, it was only $20 down the drain.
Actually they were only $16 and change each. I was able to purchase 2 of them at half the price of a Savox.

I did try out both a Savox and a Spectrum servo before I bought the cheapo EXI's. Have a friend with a Savox in his T4 and another with a Spectrum in a B4. Now, let me preface this by telling you I am in NO WAY an expert driver, but I can't tell the difference in the 3 servos as far as performance. The cheap EXI servos are definitely louder than the Savox and Spectrum, but other than that, I felt no performance difference.

There's no way for me to tell you if their specs are accurate, I'm not good enough to tell the difference between .12 and .09, nor can I feel a difference in 150oz's of torque and 120oz's. My servo saver is glued down and I have clipped some pipes ferociously since putting in the new servo, I've yet to have an issue.

My lap times were almost identical with all 3. I think it's highly possible you got a dud servo, at those prices, it's bound to happen. (that's why I ordered 2) Either way, you can't beat the price, they perform great for what you pay and are a wonderful alternative to someone on a tight budget.

@SirKarnage: Have you tried the Turnigy servos or Bluebird from HobbyKing? They have a few with some serious torque specs that I think would work for 4x4.

I've run Bluebirds, kids stuff still has them in it. Specs are good and they perform well BUT they simply don't last like the high dollar brands. The metal gears wear fast and get sloppy. Short term gain, long term loss, IMO. I would have gone through 6-7 BB's in the 3 years I've been running my XP 1015. Which is still tight and works great.

I must have gotten a dud servo. That's kind of a bummer. My son spent his hard earned cash on it and as soon as I plugged it in and started working with it I could tell that it was pretty lame compared my 1257. The lack of .07 second speed is one thing but not being able to center itself on the straights was a deal breaker. And I checked his steering and it was sloppy free like most everything else on AE front ends...

There's one I have my eye on... but haven't popped on it yet. again though seems the ones with tons'o'torque are also too slow for my tastes aswell (and still keeping in a decent price range to justify not just buying more DS1015's- which i find to be rock solid and backed by instant support from AE)

Keeping my plastic chassis setup with the rcrd running a lighter pack I think will then make a fair comparison and achieve a lower cg for the same weight. Which, to me, is better. With that said, I'm by no means an expert driver. So take what I say with a fair amount of salt.
Have you been able to do any testing as of yet?

SC10 (non FT but with MANY upgrades)

GTB esc w/TP 17.5
TeamCheckpoint lipo (year and a half old)
MRC 989 super brain charger w/separate balancer

turn key for $350

Buying used can be a great way to save money BUT it's best to have some help from someone with experience in the hobby. Buying someones beat up junk can be an expensive lesson if you don't know what to look for.
Agree, I sold a full race package including b4, lrp spx, Jr mg servo, turnigy battery, Trinity 17.5, losi 2.4 radio like the dx3s and bantam charger to a buddy for $260

That was my setup getting back into racing, and it won for me quite a few times. While top notch equipment is expensive, competitive club race equipment is not.

No, I'm a weekend driver mostly. In addition to that, my lighter batteries aren't going to be here until next week. So I should have some data next weekend.

Maybe some updates, I've heard BB shocks are in the works, but this platform is still winning & selling, until it stops doing those things they won't release another.

Has anyone tried the 22 Truck springs or is everyone still using the 22 Buggy springs? Are the truck springs longer?
