Few things you can try. Increase Front shock internal limiters, raise front spindle in Caster block, move battery farther forward, raising front camber link, longer wheelbase, Make sure diff isn't to tight...

what's a good gearing starting point for 13.5? right now I'm at 75/27 wondering I this would be good enough to keep up with mod. I can add some boost. what do you guys recommend?

thanks, D

Speaking of shocks, I'm surprised no one here has tried out the Proline Power Stroke Big Bore shocks. I run them in my T4 and woudn't go back to anything else. The only mod I did was to put some RPM limiters on the inside of the shock body..

Yeah, I was wondering about the ProLine shocks. I'm going to be putting together an additional T4 from some of my extra parts and shocks were an area that I don't have covered. What kind of springs fit on there? Have you seen any leakage? What o-rings are you using?

You can get different spring rates.. http://prolineracing.com/performance...sortment-rear/

I'd say Pro Line is way ahead of the game.. Dual Rate shocks? I mean this is technology that FOX uses for their snowmobile suspension. As far as bending the big bore titanium shock shafts... good luck because you'd really have to try.. What is nice too is that they are pre-built, so all you have to do is add oil.. I wish they made some for buggies because my RB5 SP2 would get some also... Although I am a super fan of their velvet coated shocks.. just wish Kyosho woud make ti-Nitride shafts...

They look cool and all but i dont really see why they are needed. The V2 AE shocks work very well. Build them correctly and they dont leak ( kyosho x-rings/slime). There is a reason why very few people run p-line shocks on there T4. Dont really think kyosho shocks need ti-nitrite coating. When is the last time you had to replace a kyosho shock shaft? Or had an issue with stiction? Smooth as butter.

Holy crap those are real dual rate shocks. I have been building sand rails and some other off road trucks for years and have always wondered why nobody has done a true dual rate shock for our RC toys yet. Now someone has, I'll be getting mine ASAP. If anyone has any doubts about weather a dual rate shock is worth it. You will be amazed at how well the softer spiring will soak up the small bumps and ruts and dips and than the main spring takes over on the bigger bumps. It should improve the ride and handling better than anything else you can do to your truck. All the big names in off road shocks mainly sell duan rate shocks, Fox, King, Race Runner... they all do because they work better than anything else. Sorry for the long post, this is just that good of news to me !

Ah, I see. Also agree with you. Currently everything on my vehicle except the servo and shock oil is made by associated. Great stuff from the get go.

Have you ever run Proline Power stroke shocks? I've had the V2 shocks... not impressive.. If the Proline's weren't an option, I'd either replace the V2's w/ the Kyosho RT5 shocks or even the Traxxas Big Bore shocks... either way, the AE shocks would be replaced... You're right about Kyosho's shafts though... they are killer but gold would look better

i am not saying the proline shocks are bad. Just saying that with a little massaging the V2 shocks work very well and there is a reason why most drivers run them. Each to their own. They do look cool though.

I like the idea and I would like to test them out myself. But for $140+ I may have to wait a bit. ($52 shocks + $17 spring kit + tax and x2(front & rear))

You can get them on ebay for front and rear minus spring kit for about $80.. I may try them out...

Can you measure the actual bore and spring diameter? The spring diameter looks big, but the shock body looks narrow to me.

Default Carbon Chassis????

I tried to find a thread on the T4 and had no luck, so I thought I would post my question here in the T4.1 thread. I have a later version of the FT T4 and a FT T4.1. I am trying to figure out if my T4 has the carbon chassis. I read somewhere that AE switched to the plastic chassis before the T4.1 came out - is this true? I also heard that all FT T4 kits had the carbon chassis, and the switch to plastic only happened with the T4.1 kits. My T4 chassis is very different from my T4.1 chassis, it's more of a charcoal/grey color and you can really see the fibers in the mold. However, it looks almost identical to my friends 8 year old T4 with a plastic chassis. The box makes no mention of carbon parts, but the instructions do - and the AE website mentions carbon parts (in the discontinued section). Any way to tell the difference, or do all FT T4 kits have the carbon parts? Thanks!
