Will going up in weight slow the throttle curve? lighter weight more wheel spin heavier less wheel spin?

If thats the case then you could go to heavy and that would affect your cornering?

Throttle curve is controlled by your finger.

If you're on a really slippery surface, you can run the slipper loose, otherwise, the diff oil only changes the amont of diff action.

Heavy oil = Tight diff = Less rotation

Lighter oil = Loose diff = More rotation

exactly, I was over-rotating in tight turns. Tighter diff should help alleviate this.

a little history: i bought this from someone used. i believe it was a t4 with some factory team upgrades. I have done quite some upgrades myself, like ft 4.1 shock bodies etc. I noticed that this truck was using the 2.5 deg toe in the rear. i went up to 3.5 and WOW what a difference for rear traction. I did have issues with the steering, but i super glued it. However, i am sure the caster and steering block is what ever that was on the t4. I ordered both 25deg, 30deg caster and both trailing and inline steering. I also ordered the "Ballast Weight". Where do i put this and what will this help with? Also, do you guys have any weight in the front?

note my thus far setup
30wt rear / 35 wt front
caster/steering block Not Sure
3.5 deg toe
rear tires: m3 proline suburbs
front tires: i just ordered m4 suburbs, but i was using ribs and hole shots in front... i wasn't happy

everything else is pretty standard.. h
try the new cav set up its pretty dialed

depends on which part of the turn you were over-rotating in.

Turn-in, Mid-turn or Exiting?

A question for those who have run a T4 and T4.1 , both factory team versions.

Is the T4.1 noticeably better on the track ?

The only thing it doesn't say on that sheet is the rear toe block. I set my truck up to this Tuesday night. Out track was dry, slight dust hard pack dirt/clay mix. Some bumps here and there. Ran 3* rear toe with .5 hubs though. My truck was WAY oversteering with a silver/3hole/30wt front and green/1hole/30wt rear before the change. Holeshot rears and ribs on front. The rear was very sketchy, and slid out easily on a long 180*sweeper corner. After the change to the Ryan setup( minus my hubs&toe) the rear is locked in solid with a slight push. Alot easier to drive fast and no more rear end sketchy feeling. I don't know if it was actually faster though as i didn't have the transponder system on at the time. I will find out this weekend though. Just my 2 cents on how it drives.

yes there is a noticeable difference on the track. The .1 has softer plastic material ( more grip, but wears faster), better shocks, slipper, rear hubs. Pretty much it. The T4 still gets arounds the track fine though. I still race against one guy that runs a original T4 and spanks me every now and then with it.

Heavier oil will get the tire on the outside of the turn to push the car forward more through the turns instead of just sitting there while the inside (lifted/unloaded) tire spins (diffs out). BUT too heavy and you turn it into a posi track and it will want to fish tail bad out of the corners and push bad going into them. Same with a ball diff that is too loose or too tight.
