Default Hotwire and Tekin RX8

Just because I am really lazy and hate opening my receiver box. Can I utilize a Y-cable(I will make sure I have the correct ends) between my RX8 and Receiver? In essence leaving me with a port to plug my Hotwire into without having to unplug my RX 8 from my Receiver.

Or can I just plug my hotwire directly into my receiver(again with the correct extension)?
Will the Hotwire find the RX8 through the receiver?

Thanx from the lazy.

What I plan on doing is making an extension that will plug into the rx inside the box, then exit the box where the RX8 can plug into it. Then if I need to access it via Hotwire I can just unplug the extension that's kind of laying in the open.

Default RX8 hot wire lead

Dito on the short extention lead coming out of your receive box. I do the same trick to power my transponder that I have to move from my truck to my buggy. The y-harness will not work, the hot wire needs to see the esc alone, not plugged in the receiver at the same time
