I race 12th scale and I have been having problems with my motor cutting out, its not hot or anything like that I am just wondering if the carpet can put off some static spark that would shut my motor out and if so what can I do to avoid that PLEASE HELP

A coupe tricks I've seen guys do is a very fine piece of wire attached to a stand off or a chassis screw dragging the carpet (So it grounds itself) to remove static, and wiping the bottom of the chassis w/ a anti-static fabric "Cling Free" type towel.

I have had this problem when useing a spektrum receiver, I have seen guys put dryer sheets under the battery and spray the chassis with cling free, I added a plug in cap. to the receiver and had no more problems.
