Bought a new E-Maxx. Have no clue what it is. Help!

The older E-Maxx has decent steering but the stock servo isn't quite strong enough to turn the wheels while it's stationary. No big deal. As for speed, it's possible the stock motors' brushes and commutators are worn out; don't expect anything more than 25 MPH stock in second gear at best though on 12 cells.

There is tons of potential in the old E-Maxx. Hope you enjoy, and ask away with any specific questions.

6.2l detroit. And yes i ment $120 lmao. I was pissed when i got it home because the steering would turn but nothing else worked. So i called traxxas customer support and i guess we needed to recalibrate the speed control. All is well now lol. Stupid battery charging, grrrrr.

Seems to me like you got away with some pretty good deals for both. What I would do with the old e-maxx is to put some new electronics in there if you have the money! Meaning probably a brushless motor and an ESC (Electric Speed Control) that would be able to take the beating. Most motors and ESC's come as a combo. I just recently bought a new motor and ESC for my Buggy and it costed me $300, this is not a cheap hobby by any means, but it is worth every penny since I have a passion for this hobby. Its a great time to meet up with friends at a track or bashing on some random jumps made out some random pieces of wood that you have laying around!

Well you did great on the emaxx, the other aaaa so so. Bout reg price, depending on condition. Should run great for $120. Entry level rig. I would hold off on the brushless system. Go for the lipo, that will keep you busy for awhile... performance is great. Suxs you just bought reg batterys, but the brushless sytem woulnt like them anyway. Lipo and charger,, then brushless. Might want to get a ebay acount, start looking for deals. You'll be broke in no time...welcome

got some pics somewhere?
