SC10 help

Hey
I recently brought a SC10 2wd and have been driving it around and over a few jumps but nothing major and no major crashes. Then all of a sudden it starts making a gear stripping noise and i have stripped down and re-oiled the diff and stripped down the whole rear end twice now and and i cant seem to find the problem
. Any help would be very appreciated.

If it has a the gear diff, then it is improperly shimmed. My brother got a brand new SC10RS and when he accelerated it made a stripping sound. We called Associated and they said that it wasn't shimmed right. They said they were going to send us shims with instructions but never did. Anyway, we went back to where we bought it and they gave us a brand new one and it didn't make the noise.

these shims, exactly where do they go?
My daughters SC10 is doing that click click click sound, but when I took apart the gear diff, the only shims I saw were under the sun gears (the bigger internal gears, 2 of them) under the pin. On my 1/8 scales usually see a shim behind each of the smaller gears as well or at least we put those there when converting old rc8s to electric.

AE will send you the kit with instructions to you at no charge. It is very easy and probably a perfect time to set your gear diff up with new lube anyways. I have raced mine 15 nights plus practice since I installed the shims with no issues.

Gave them a call and they are sending out shims.
They were however unable to identify a part number for the shims or the actual size exactly. No go on shims at the LHS either. Time to dig through the parts bin.
Funny, I was told the gear diff would be so much easier than the ball diff LOL.
