Pink compound Losi Taper Pin is still one of my favorite tires. They like traction sauce and make awesome slicks

I was kinda trying to avoid Losi tires since I haven't heard of anyone having much luck with them locally. My favorite tire was square fuzzy rear and then cutting down a set for fronts too but that was back on the B3

I really like them on the front but I never, never see rears!! By the way while were on the subject I was lucky enough to test some of the new AKA Vector clay compound tires and they are amazing!! AKA should have there clay compound tires available shortly along with the 2wd front foams!!

speaking of motorama, this is my first time going back in probably 10 years. What tires do they run there? The normal indoor flavor (barcodes etc??)

they say to have slicks early on for practice as the track sets in (super high traction) then eventually as the groove sets in you move on to small pins, larger pins, then the typical barcode / bk bar type. i dunno since it will be my first time there as well but that's what i've hear so far. go into the motorama thread and ask, i'd like to confirm that as well! i figured we have plenty of time until then but the sooner we figure it out the better.

edit: btw for those who use bk bars in the rear, i highly recommend using the jc hex conversions and using the TLR wheels for the 22. they fit awesome and no need to cut the inner lip of the tire for better fitment.

Agree 100%. But for now, its what we have to live with.

The box T4.1 setup for me just doesn't have enough turn in for a tight track. Hence, I'm going to try extreme conditions: inside/inside for tower/arm locations, axle up, no washers on tower, 1-A link, #3 piston, 25 wt, 6 limiters, silver losi BB spring. I run the battery forward as is and I still need more steering.

Have you tried the inline axles/spindles? I'm not an expert in this field I have never used them but I think if I'm not mistaken by the above name I called them they should give you more turn in. If I were you I would use a really soft front suspension setup if there isn't to many big jumps which there shouldn't on that small of a track. I think softening up the front dampening will help you greatly!

They do. They also add 5mm to the wheelbase So with a +8mm Chassis and inline axles you gain about 13mm It's nice

I have been using barcodes front and rear but since I have been gone for so long, I was just seeing what else is out there.

And are you sure that you are starting with slicks and going to pins later??? I would think it would be the other way around. Pins until a groove and then the slicks once its grooved. and btw, i hate slicks LOL.

Go Pack!
Sounds a bit like where we run at Full Throttle Raceway in Foley MN. My kids got a T4. He's got Bar Codes for it but he's had good success with Double Dees front and rear, Flip Outs, M4 Holeshots, and even Calibers if the track gets a bit dusty. Currently he is running AE blue springs in front and silvers in rear. 30 wt. oil with #2 pistons in front and 27.5 wt with #2 pistons in the rear. Zero degree rear hub carriers with the B block, camber link mounted in the second from inside hole. Inside rear camber link in the inside position with a single washer. Front 30 degree caster, inside camber link location is the inside position with a single washer. That's what I recall off the top of my head. Its a great handling truck.
