Default coolest battery explosion ever

These are some pics of a battery pack that blew up at the oval nats this past weekend.. Notice the wall behind the charge staion.. lucky it didnt blow thw other way..BTW thats wood, not drywall..

They said it was a 10 amp charge with an .05 cutoff.. shotgun anyone??

We have a hole in the wall at our track from just the same thing. A Turbo 35 didn't peak and kept charging. We could hear some cracking noise and looked around for what it was. It was installed in a car at the time when it let loose. Sounded like a shot gun going off. We taped off the hole and the driver signed it.

Stuff like this only happens from user error. If you read he was charging it at 10 amps with a .05 or 50 mV peak detect....WAY TO HIGH. This was not the battery's fault.

That's funny, I have never tried to charge my batteries on a METAL rack before!

funny as hell seeing that cell in the wall,but at the same time rather dangerous!

I would have needed a spare set of underwear if they were my cells

Seriously though,10 amps ouch thats going to hurt!

I only race stock so i'm looking for a lot of punch out my cells but I think thats a little over-kill,literally

the guys were very lucky they were not in the trailer. We were in the drivers meeting at the time. We heard it in the other building!
I was banging on the side of the trailer all week to keep them on their toes... Just couldn't do it again after that!
