Hebert's shock looks to be standard length, about 66mm centre to centre (my last 12R5.2 had the same shock). You'll notice at the Worlds though he has shortened the rear pod top plate so the shock is mounted further back than normal.
If you mount the front of the shock straight to the chassis like Hebert, you may have to find the right length by trial and error, or make custom mounts. Instead of cutting the pod plate on my latest, I just made a custom front mount.
