Did that a couple of times. Once with a very light coat of oneway grease. Once with no grease per the great Manticore and Novarossi. Still sqeals like a pig. 
the greese is your problem that greese is for other 1 way bearings like front 1 way and 1 way pullies now the 2 speed 1way works well with a good quality motor oil like mobil 1 or slick50. make sure that you clean every bit of greese out if the 1 way. Motor spray works well for that and some time for the greese that is very hard to ger out i had to soak mine in tide over night and rinsed it out with hot water then sprayed it with motor spray and re oil it and it workes better than new
