I assumed it was an issue only on the first batch of kits... I would expect them since they found out the issue they would address it on the newer kits...
Or maybe they have bought 200,000 bearings which all have the same problem... If that's the case then they should include the instructions in the manual. Website is nice but not everybody has access to the Net or think about checking it out in the first place.
