The size of the motor pretty much just dictates how easily it can move the vehicle. A small motor can be put in a larger vehicle, the gearing just has to be changed to match.
Unless its something like a 6.5 or lower turn. Then no amount of gearing will make it work. On top of that you have to be sure it will handle the voltage you intend to use. I wouldn't put more than a 17.5 in something that heavy, and maybe 3S.
