i have a bonito with about 4 gallons on it and another with about 3. the 3 galllone one runs great 10 min + runtime and is predictable idles down perfectly. the four gallon one does not idle down well, after a run it idles high for a bit not terrible then idles real low and shuts off. i can turn the idle up a bit and it wont shut off but the high idle after a high speed pass is annoying it definately has less compression than the other but I have never been able to set the carbs the same it would always run lean if i matched the carbs and it hit 360 once or twice lost a fuel pressure line. is it just tired and needs a rebuild or pinch? carb setting is flush or slightly above on lsn and flush on hsn.

i would put new rod/wristpin and resize it at the very least , sometimes the block will warp when the engine hits those temps causing some serious tuning issues also
