Hi,

Heard a lot about "matched" piston and sleeve, what is this "matching" process anyway? My LHO said "matching" is the difference between a NSR S5 piston and sleeve that cost about 100 bucks, and a Max S5 piston and sleeve that cost about 250....

Could someone enlight me about what this process is, and how its done?

Which LHO d u go to ?
The first batch of MAX in HK were very good. Most I have seem and used have good piston fitting. I believe they SELECTED the piston so it fit according to the Sleeve size therefore not much running in was required. ( mechanical fitting)

I assume you were looking at the MAX S5 P/S comes in a Polybag header. Phyically, they look quite good as I can see the piston sitting quite far into the sleeve, close to TDC. But for extra $150???? no thanks.

I can lap your piston for Free.

ALso, Max piston and NSR piston uses different material and production process. Which one is better.... depends who you ask.
