For that setup, I'd probably start with:
27t pinion for 13.5 (this is my current set up, with 3600kv D3 13.5 )
26t pinion for 10.5 (4200kv) If your kv rating is slower, then go up a tooth.
Nobody likes to have a bunch of gears in their pit box that aren't being used....but remember, a couple pinion gears are a lot cheaper than buying a couple new motors! (because they burned up!)
$5 or $10.....vs........$65~$100. Besides, someone at your track will likely need one at some point.......I'm constantly selling my extra pinions!
