It's a day too late, you've already run the Challenge and you realized you would've never made the 7+ mins. running a mod motor (anything lower than say a 19T) at any amp draw(within reason, of course). Sorry I got to your post too late.
Actually I broke my brushless a while ago and now run the standard motors. I personally ran a 12 triple and had just enough runtime for the 7 min race, and to get third place.
