If you are doing a LOT of dynamic timing advance with a 17.5, I would start with 78/28. If you are doing NO esc timing at all, I would start with 78/32. Of course which motor, which esc, and what track you are on can change what you run.
I run 27/72 with a moderate amount of boost. When I was near maxed out on boost (tekin rs), the car was FAST! Too much top end for my track. I'm down to 30 degrees advance now, from 50.
32/78 seems like a lot of teeth. Will that even fit? Low 30's on pinion is the right ballpark for unboosted stock though.
