The new shorty lipos does offer some potential in new chassis designs but to speculate on the market reaction right now is just too preliminary. I think the capacity and C rating need to improve before it becomes widely accepted such that designers will start taking advantage of its size.

For now I really don't see why they can't just keep the current three belt configuration and just tweak the car to fix its shortcomings. I still think that if they borrowed some of the features from the Top Photon (ie shock towers and RCA wings), they could have a nice car going. About the battery issue, they can find a way to redesign the bulkheads such that they could use a narrower top deck with the pack sliding in from the side just slightly offcenter in conjunction with the current electronics layout and still achieve a narrow chassis design without giving up on the three belt. In doing so they can avoid the chassis flex issues by ditching the drop out battery plate.
