Turn the high speed needle all the way in and back it out 2 1/2 - 3 turns. Take off your air cleaner, and if you haven't already get rid of that damn white restricter in your carb. With the carb fully open adjust your low speed needle so that there is about 1/16th of an inch between the needle and the spray bar. Now close your carb to check the idle. It should be open about 1/16 when properly set.

This setting will be rich, but she'll run. When tuning adjust the high speed needle first. Don't worry about it if it dies on you. Get the high speed needle set, and if it's sluggish off the line lean out the low speed until the throttle response is pretty snappy. After this is done, odds are you'll need to drop the idle slightly. Do this while it's running so you can hear it. When it sits still and idles you are good to go!

Hope this helps...
