I run at a large outdoor clay track which has all sorts of jumps, turns and one long straight.
I am building a AE B4.1 kit and want a motor ESC combo which is faster but not killer faster than my current B4.1 RTR which has a Reedy brushless 3800kv motor.
I do not want to break the bank but am OK at spending $200-225 for the combo but I can't see spending the big bucks because this is a hobby and not life or death. I also want a motor that won't overheat or one that will drain a 5000 lipo in a few minutes.
I am considering a Castle or Reedy combo.....
A lot here to consider, any ideas?

Buy a used race-grade ESC like an LRP from the for-sale ads here - they can be found for @$130 for even the newer v.2 ones often and pair that with a brand new $85 mod motor of your choice and you'll have a sensored setup that will be way better than what you can get in a combo pack for the same price range. An 8.5 is usually about the maximum amount of power a buggy can put down and it's always easier to dial an 8.5 back electronically than it is to make a 13.5 go faster if you need to adjust the controlability of your car.
