I don't think this car has any future outside of Tamiya's own races, and probably not even outside of Japan since nobody else in the world runs the small LiFe packs - I don't think they are even imported into the UK.
4wd Mini has been around for a while and has never really taken off as a racing class... I suspect the cars are just too similar to a 190mm tourer. A 2wd Mini drives differently and can only cope with limited power, this is what makes them fun and interesting.
Even if this Tamiya could run 540 motors and standard sized packs, I doubt it could compete with the ABC Genetic (for example). The Tamiya M-chassis suspension geometry puts a significant limit on performance.
