Yes, the taller wall holds the pads static, but you throw an extra slipper plate between them like the MTK clutch basket. In essence a built in clutch basket on both sides of the spur that you can add as many or few slipper pads/plates to as you want.
You can put as many pads and plates as you want together, but if the only slipping is happening between 1 pad and the plate, you aren't doing anything other than adding more weight....
