Slightly different battery technology to Lipo

Less energy density but a little safer in the way it is handled

Can be left fully charged and usually does not require a lipo style cutoff

3.3v / cell nominal vs 3.7v / cell for lipo
3.6v / cell fully charged vs 4.2v / cell for lipo

Needs a charger with a dedicated Life mode to charge it
