The issue is a 35a esc is no bueno in a 5lb. 4wd 1/10 sc truck like yours. So many people buy the cheapest HW combo available, burn it up, and wonder why. That esc is really for 1/12 on road, maybe 1/10 lightweight on road. I understand there's no way to know this until you find out the hard way.
As mentioned before, 60a is more appropriate.
9t+35a speedo in a 5 lb truck= toasted speedo plain and simple..I have had good luck with the 35a esc in 2wd buggy, but i have never ran anything hotter than a 10.5 in a 2wd buggy with it, and that was pushing that little speedo HARD!!BTW if that HSP truck is 4wd that is a definite no-no just due to all the extra divetrain load...
