I think it will be like that as well. If you look in the picture of Martin Hudy holding the car (with bodyshell) you can just see the 'Y' shape at the front of the top deck.
Problem is, on carpet, I like to use the thick black spacers to allow me to fit the steering through the topdeck. I don't trust myself not to rip the steering posts through the chassis when crashing indoors.

they may add a link between steering posts and a single screw to connect it to top deck like tamiya etc.
