European racers are more custom to rain due to there climate. The US as whole has hotter and dryer weather than Europe. If the US had weather like Seattle all year round. then you might see more races held under wet conditions. Same reason why 6 inches of snow in Europe shuts everything down. Have that here in the US and it's time to break out the sled.
