I'm running the old pod on my genx with brushless. And yes the motor is right side heavy. But I ran it all last winter with no traction issues. Since our track is very tight but the high speed corner is a right hander which is good for me. As I have a bit better corner speed with this setup.
The biggest issue is the sensor cable might rub on the left tire as the motor is basically up against the left pod. And if you have the full left side motor Plate getting the wiring to work takes a bit of fiddling
