Leave it factory. I was told messing with the shims plays alot of factors as far as timing etc. Leave what it came out of the box with. Some engines come with a break in shim, Argus i dont think does but if otherwise only the break in shim should be added or removed... Correct me if im wrong, but i think shimming has alot more to do then just button gap...
