Just to clear this up since someone who has never had an engine from Monty, let alone an engine modded and broken in by Monty decided to comment. The X7 mentioned was mine. I as the driver had no problem with its performance. It has made exceptional power at the nats in cali when it was brand new, at the regional race in utah over a mile high, and back here in AZ at the Nitro Pit and Fear Farm. On the night in question it was taken from the shelf after about 3 months of collecting dust and no love and thrown on the track. The truck it was in wasn't perfect, the clutch surely wasn't perfect, and mostly likely the tune was close but not perfect. It started right up, ran all night no problem, and I got third in the main behind a full sponsored driver and Losi Racer. I would not attribute his success to my lack of motor but rather to a great drive and setup ride with a fair amount of track time. Not sure why if I'm happy with my motor someone else needs to worry about it. Just Sayin'. So if you thinking about one of these motors go ahead and indulge. I have been very happy with it. And it's getting right at ten minutes of run time here in the summer with that safe tune. Should go well over that in a month or two.
