My understanding for the mini orca class is that the esc must be run in the spec zero boost "blinky" mode. As far as teching is concerned the purpose of this "blink" mode is for a very fast visual inspection to ensure it is in the spec "blinky" mode. The powers that be can correct me if I am wrong but if your not in spec "blinky" mode befor your run you will not be allowed to run. If not in this mode after your run when you are teched then that run will not count. This is for both qualies and mains. You can also read through this other thread for more details.
