Lars spamming was every single club thread, 2 of my clubs got hit, did i care ? no. would i have known of the event if i didnt see the post........... NO. so it made me aware of the event, and for that, i think its worth its weight in gold. many clubs are struggling for numbers for their events, i admit, Lars posts were of a larger scale, but i chose to read it and move on, not complain about it, as it was effective of what he was trying to do. it worked. that is someone/club, utilising all teh powers they have at one time, to help them have a successfull event. dont like it, dont read it, dont reply to it, and make it more on topic. thats enough about it, lets all move on.
Lets not discount that if ppl enforce a strict and personal set of rules on what is a public forum then from experience on the net and social chatting etc, ppl will move on and then few ppl are left.
I'd be almost certain since facebook RCtech has reduced in number of posts etc and the reality is, if ppl want to get personal about a public service then they'll end up wondering where everyone went.
I've moderated and operated channels in the early days and it's not a fun job, so this isnt a dig at the moderators, but the best attitude to public forums is tolerance and positive moderation. Bans should be directed after individuals have been warned personally. A blanket rule often leads to a mass exodus and there's always another forum waiting and hoping to grow.
We, the people make forums, not a thread title.
