Hi?
I just installed a new con rod in my OS .12 (first time). I got paranoid that one of the 'fingers' on the pin holding the clip holding the pin in the piston my have been protruding so i decided to take the engine apart again and check...it was ok. Anyway, I put the engine back together and the con rod took a bit of force to slip back over the pin on the crank so i gave it a swift tap with handle of a pair of pliers and it slipped back on.
I noticed that doing this shaved a small about of brass from the lower rod bushing, which i quickly removed. It seems as though there is now a little bit of play in the lower bushing (more than when i installed the new rod the first time but less than in the old one i replaced). Have I just ruined the new con rod? or is a small amount of play here ok?
