It sometimes demanded a very tight setting to keep the rear plate from slipping.
Canceling out any benefit the slipper could bring to the car as the slipper was about locked up to get proper acceleration ...
How can design still be the same when currently the rear plate which runs the front of the truck is NOT connected or driven by the shaft, the plate is keyed into the pulley that runs the belt. If you pin the rear plate to the shaft you no longer have a decoupled slipper.
