I'm sure someone will find a loophole, but thought this was a great idea when Scotty did this a few years back for either the Novak race or Vegas. Typically, one of the best things about the 'later rounds' is that everyone is sorted and racing to win their heat, which is then a close battle in almost every one. Better for racers and spectators (who are mostly racers) alike, IMO. And even the announcer will have a ton more excitement to report on.

Yep, Ian, this is a great idea, take the best 3 or 5 laps from everyones "pratice runs" a set the heat board by that. it does work out well.
