I'm very interested on doing this kind of setup, because I refuse to add ballasts to the car, I'd rather use this weight on adding batteries, or useful stuff like that.

Dude. Just add the weight. Finnally got serious about tuning my sc10 and we ended up doing the 5mm shims on front upper suspension links, about 5-6 Oz of weight ( I am running smaller 3.3AH LIpo's) and we unscrewed the rear shock ends about 3-4 turns. WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!! I am running stock oil with white springs.
I will add that I had lots of problems with the stock plastic servo arm getting stripped from my bashing and I found a losi comp crawler alum servo arm that will fit. you have to drill/tap the arm since its standard and the 6mm ball that came with the sc10 is 3mm thread.
