worth a lot more for sure, and I would be stupid to pass it up. This thing is beautiful. Everything is in like new shape. I can't
believe someone was selling this for $50. The motor runs great, but tranny works when it wants to and does not want
to shift, which is a nothing to frown at for the deal I got. If you rev the motor up, sometimes it will pop into gear,
but will not shift. Does anyone know what may be the problem, or does anyone know what transmission I would have to
buy to replace this one. Like I said, I know nothing about these, and didn't know if the tranny from the 3.3 or 2.5
were the same, or would work. Any input would be great!
Holy shmokez mang, $50 for an original T-Maxx, that's a pretty nice deal haha! I've never seen one that clean before either. Somebody must've taken really really good care of it. Anyways, my answer to you is completely dependent on how much you're willing to spend in both the time and the money department..

You can easily pick up one of these transmissions online for just as great price as anywhere. Would you be interested in a forward only, or a reversing transmission? Forward only has less rotating mass and slightly lower weight which will allow you to reach higher top speeds. Reverse obviously allows you to shift into reverse haha. Let me know and I'll point you in the right direction. Doing this you're probably looking at a good hour or so (more or less) invested (saying that because you said you're new) to take out the old transmission and drop in the new one.

Your other option would be to take out, disassemble and repair/tweak the internals so it works like new. This is mostly a time investment, but if you're interested in learning your way around the T-Maxx transmission I'd be more than happy to walk you through finding the problem.

Also, what'd you mean by:
