AMGRacer those NS3 are a tight motor from what I've seen at the track.
I'm sure there's some truth in what you say. I haven't changed the rod in the NSR yet and it still feels fine but I guess it's only had about three litres. With the X/12 Rody, I had to feed it rods and bearings regularly - but geez it screamed.

One thing I've noticed with these newer engines using the 11.5mm crank is they seem much more robust in the bottom end. I'm just surprised that an extra .5mm and different bearings have made such a difference.

Just thinking about it, I don't recall anyone posting here that they'd broken a NS or V12 crank. There were plenty of broken S3/S1/X-12 Rody cranks though.
