what if he wants a more planted and easier to drive 4WD SC instead of fighting the truck he has? The AE truck is just not well-balanced, and box stock, it just plain F'ing sucks. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. You need to go through a few tuning revisions to "get it right"...and even then, it is probably not completely there. For anyone who says you need to drive it smooth, etc....well, you should be able to push your truck when you need to. Not TipToe around the track hoping your SC10 doesn't get squirrely or traction roll it around a sweeper/turn. Bottom line is.....overall, the AE truck is just not as good as the Losi.
Look at Roar Nationals this past weekend. Out of the top A-Main guys running....half of them were Losi SCTE's, including the champion. There was only 1 AE truck that made the final 10 in the A-Main compared to like, 1/2 the field which were Losi SCTEs. The "Top AE Drivers" (ie. Ryan's) didn't even run in the 4WD Pro 4 class. On a year where you can make a name for your newest, ground-up design? Sure, all of them are the worlds best drivers, but all things being equal.....even in the hands of Top Pros, the Losi is faster. Hell, the SC10 4x4s that did run at Nationals all had Saddle Pack Configurations in their cars. That should tell you a little bit that the AE truck is just well, not as balanced and not where it should be cmpared to the rest of the field.
