The spool outdrives are fine! they wear instead of you wearing out your drive shafts etc when you hit something!
mine last a fair few meetings and only cost around $3 to replace. 3racing or someone also does them with the alu sleeve included for about the same price.
He's already mentioned what happened. If you put the spool in upside down in the 416, the blue outdrives touch the bottom of the bulkhead cap, which knackers the alloy, and heats the plastic outdrives up so they literally melt into a pile of goo.... (trust me, done this!
)
On the 417, doesn't happen, as the bulkhead caps had some material removed from underneath for clearance
