I wouldn't say closed end bell motors are junk. They just arent up to par with brushless motors. I am using a midnight pumpkin with a 25+ years silver can motor and it's pretty good. Ive had good experience with the Titan motors as well. Some people get a bad motor and some just kill them. I'm sure there are a few bad brushless motors once in a while too
