I will admit I spent 3 years driving sc10 2x4 rtr and mod FT version. I'm loving it box stock except for tires and a couple settings. The more I drive it the harder I can push it! Good luck to ya!
That's awesome, I hope I can get to that point with my AE Truck. Our track is hard, and its big, and it's blue grooved (200ft x 75ft) but it's very 10th scale friendly. A very fast lap time is about 36.5 by one of our local fast guys. My personal fastest is 37.0. However, it is much easier to replicate that lap with a Losi truck than the AE. I usually stay in the 38.5-40.0 sec range, but most "average guys" run about 42-46 second laps. If your track is not that big, and loamy and/or loose perhaps the high cg helps you get around really tight corners without dumping the rear suspension too hard. At our track, this is not possible. The trucks are always going so fast, (and yet they still feel slow with a 4.5 Tekin 550 motor) that a very well balanced set-up is needed. Nothing close to stock will work very well.
While I am adding about 4 oz, I am still way below the Losi which is about 10-12 ounces heavier. The fact that the truck has a higher relative center of gravity is what I am attempting to tackle. Hopefully I find the stability that the truck lacks.
