Coyote do you show any slipper disk wear on the inside slipper disk or inside hub? I had the same problem you are having but only the outside disk showed any sort of wear, and the inside hub and disk were like brand new.

I was going to take some steel wool (or really light sand paper) to the inside hub and roughin it up a bit so it grabs. Although this doesn't help your case that the slipper spring is fully compressed perhaps you can get a new spring and see if it any better.
